Known as F106lady, sometimes Lady J, or just “hey lady!” on the streets I came onto the collecting scene only a few short years ago about February 2002 right after my son got his first Joe for Christmas.  Being a veteran of the US Air Force I couldn’t stand to see the dolls dressed incorrectly so I had to start my own collection.

My first figure as an adult was the carded Viet Nam M60 gunner and a Viet Nam helicopter pilot with dio. Following soon after that was bbi’s latest Freedom Force release, their 82nd Airborne figure.  That was the first time I promised my husband it would be the last figure I bought.

Countless figures later the majority of my collection is modern military, but I also dabble into other eras as well.  So for the record I could say I collect heroes, using photos of actual 1:1 soldiers for my kitbashes.  My brand of preference is bbi.

I spent over ten years in the military.  For eight of those years I carried about 70 lbs worth of gear on a daily basis.   About 65 lbs of that was a toolbox the rest was technical reference books.  My job description was crew chief, that’s an airplane mechanic for you non-coms.  I have worked on F-106s (hence my SN) for the 87th FIS at K.I. Sawyer AFB MI. I also crewed A-10s at England AFB, LA with the 23rd TFW and F-111s for the 20th TFW at RAF Upper Heyford UK.  I left my military career in 1992 to pursue other interests as a wife and mother.

I met and married a fellow crew chief while I was stationed in Great Britain.  When he retired from the USAF after 24 years of service we moved smack dab in the middle of the U.S. of A.  We have two boys, currently 11 and 7 years of age.  I hope that my main focus is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as He is the one I am deeply indebted to.
