I will admit right now that I am impressed with this offering from Old Joe Infirmary. I saw it on Monkey Depot’s website, and was intrigued enough to get one for myself. The cost is $30 for the set, and while that may seem high at first, you will realize the bargain you have as soon as you start to dress your figure.
The set starts out with a collared shirt and tie, nicely done. Over the shirt goes the blouse, an excellent piece of work. This thing is done in a nice fabric, with excellent detail on the insignia, buttons and piping. The pants are excellent as well, every bit as good as any Dragon offering. The cut and trim of both is perfect, and I am happy to say that not a single thread was left loose, and all the seams were perfect. This was done with an attention to quality that is not always seen in the sixth scale world.
The set is complete with an absolutely beautiful overcoat. It too has shoulderboards, insignia and piping appropriate to the Red Cross. It is double-breasted, with the buttons hidden nicely inside the flaps, and no tell-tale bulges where they sit. The coat closes snugly and looks great.
Accessories to the set include two Red Cross Armbands, one made to wear over the blouse, the other a bit longer so that it fits over the greatcoat. Black jack boots in a nice mold (just different enough in appearance to the standard German Jackboot to be interesting) complete the uniform. A soft rubber molded peak cap with its’ appropriately insignia fits nicely on any headsculpt. Finally, a double tabard of White Cloth with giant red crosses finishes the set.
The quality of this set is amazing. Don’t let the price throw you off, this thing is easily worth it. You will NOT be disappointed if you add this to your collection, for its uniqueness, quality and craftsmanship.
