Charlotte has asked me to serve as a correspondent for the Movie/Sci-Fi and FemFatales categories on JoeWorld. My name is ScottE, but you may know me by my screen name, HoloSuite. Writers on staff have been encouraged to post a wee bit of background information, so here's a little of my backstory.

I'm a Joe collector/kitbasher/customizer who witnessed the dawn of the First Age of Joe. As a child of the 60's I was part of the target audience for the first age of Joe, and the subsequent AT evolution. My Joes were adventuring long before Hasbro came up with the Adventure Team. There was treasure to be found, planets to explore, and giant tabby cats to stalk.

Sometime in the mid-70s my mind was clouded by those twin banes of every toy company, Gasoline and Perfume. I became too "old" for toys. In my waning wisdom I packed selected childhood treasures away in the attic. There they waited until I reclaimed the three Joes and their gear in '98. They now have scores of like sized companions to keep them company.

My collection tends to serve as character actors in photostories and dioramas. Few figures stay as they are when they come out of their box. My major collecting themes are Space, Adventure, Characters from Popular Media, and Gals with Gumption (Girls with BigGuns?). The following link shows a sample of my figure fixation.
