I picked up this figure because it has two of my favorite weapons, the M1919A6 and the BAR, and I had heard that the newer BBi figs at TRU had better articulation than their previous releases. And because it was a new, overall cool looking figure at a cheaper price of $19.99.
The helmet is a piece of junk. VERY little detail at all and the inside is mostly foam.
The scarf is very well made. It is a nice green and is about 9" long and almost 1" wide.
The jacket is not great, with a light green gas detection armband around the sleeve and attached to the shoulder strap. It also has two false pockets and a velcro front closure. Also, the sleeves have two seams; one on the back and one underneath.
The vest is also very bad. It is thin with only four pockets on the front, green trim and simulated buckles that you have to loop the strap through the buckle to keep it closed.
The pants are just plain green with a velcro closure.
The boots are a couple of the best pieces in the set. The detail is very good and colors are great. The only odd thing about them is a light green stripe just above the sole.
The belt is not great. It's tan web with reversed buckles (see pic) and slider.
The inflatable belt is ok, but solid plastic. The detail isn't great and only the buckles are painted silver, with the rest of the belt a light green. Not a good piece.
The gas mask bag is, as other pieces, junk. It is solid plastic with two plastic straps that attach to two flimsy plastic buckles. The whole thing is light green, with the straps painted tan. It also has green markings on the front.
The gas detection armband is pretty good. The color, design and size are great.
The ammo pouches are molded, but very nice. They are molded to look like cloth, and really do look like cloth. Texture, stitching, everything. If not touching them, you'd think they were cloth. But they are entirely one color; no painted mags, eyelets or fasteners.
The T-handle shovel is molded great, but could use a repaint.
The Browning M1919A6 LMG is ok at best. The bipod is totally wrong, the barrel and stock are black and the receiver is gray. No hole in the barrel, and nothing but the bipod and carry handle moves. And the 2 belts of ammo that come with it are VERY basic.
The BAR is about the same. The only moving thing on it is the bipod. However, the detail is good, and with a little work, this would look great. As it is, it would not make a bad display piece.
The .45 is solid black plastic with fixed mag and slide and is very detailed. Great if you need a holster filler and don't want to use one of your better guns. The holster is not bad. The color is nice and the detail is very good. Even the inside is detailed.
The knives are total junk. Both are soft rubber and the paint is bad. The one in the molded scabbard has a belt clip on the back.
Now, last but not least, is the body. The head is an "Owl" head with light brown hair and goatee. The body is a true G-1, exactly the same as their earlier bodies like "Eagle" and "Rogue," with right hand trigger finger and excellent neck articulation. One of, if not the, best pieces in the set.
All in all, I'm very happy with the set. The body, the boots, and the amount of accessories in general are, IMHO, well worth the $20.
As a side note, the box isn't that bad, either. It has pics of 8 other figures on the back and an odd part on the lower front; "For ages 14 and up." This is amusing to me, because this is something one sees on the boxes of DML or "collector" BBi figures, not a figure like this.
